Diplomacy in the 21st Century

Keynote address: Nicholas Burns, professor of the Practice of Diplomacy and International Politics at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government

As a former ambassador to NATO and Greece and career foreign service officer, Nicholas Burns understands the need for, and challenges of, diplomacy in the 21st century. He shares that expertise in presentations ranging from globalization to America’s future in global leadership. Burns served under three presidents during his 27-year career, and played a leadership role in U.S. foreign policy toward the Middle East and Asia and was the nation’s top career diplomat as under secretary of state for political affairs from 2005 to 2008.
