CASTNET Program

On Aug. 14, 2013, AAPCA sent a comment letter to the EPA's Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards regarding the Clean Air Status and Trend Network (CASTNET) used to monitor ozone levels in states. Our members expressed concern that a decision by EPA to use the CASTNET monitors for regulatory purposes was undertaken without sufficient notification to the states. The result of this decision could have serious implications for under State Implementation Plans and Clean Air attainment designations. View Letter »
