The Transportation Policy Task Force provides a forum for state leaders to address emerging challenges and issues arising from dynamic transportation conditions, impacts and realities. Members of the task force will assist staff on emerging trends, innovative and effective solutions, and viable policy positions and response projects. During meetings, task force members may develop policy resolutions and offer suggested state legislation. The task force is designed to encourage multi-state problem solving and sharing of best practices, and to facilitate networking among state officials and between the public and private sectors. Task force priorities are established by the task force membership for the 2009/2010 biennium. Key issues may include: transportation finance, alternative financing models, infrastructure, public transit, and state/federal highway funding.
