Sen. Joe Biden to Address
Council of State Governments Friday
Biden is one of several speakers who will address state officials from all three branches of government during CSG’s annual gathering Dec. 1-4 in Wilmington, Delaware. Also on the four-day forum agenda are former FBI director Louis Freeh, pollster John Zogby and author Daniel M. Pink. Freeh, the former FBI director under Bill Clinton, author of My FBI, and Daniel Pink, author of A Whole New Mind will also speak at the forum to discuss emerging trends and their implications on state government. Zogby, acclaimed by many to be the nation’s most accurate pollster, will present findings from a recent survey that compares the public’s perceptions of government to state officials’ perceptions and will discuss the implications for state governments. The conference will feature special presentations regarding a broad range of emerging trends including urban sprawl and its effect on farmland, public safety and justice issues confronting America’s aging population, and the use of information technology to reduce costs while improving the quality of health care. All sessions are open to the press. However, registration is required. For more information, contact Jack Penchoff at (859) 244-8153 or jpenchoff@csg.org. A preliminary agenda is located on CSG’s Web site at www.csg.org. CSG is a national, nonpartisan, not-for-profit organization that has championed excellence in state government for more than 70 years by sharing innovative solutions to common problems across state borders. ### The Council of State Governments is the nation’s only organization serving every elected and appointed official in all three branches of every state government. CSG has championed excellence in state government since 1933 by advocating multi-state shared problem solving and states’ rights, by tracking national conditions, trends, and innovations, and through nonpartisan, groundbreaking leadership training and support. |
