Tim Weldon
Tim Weldon has been with CSG since 2007. In his current position, Weldon works with the National Advisory Council on Postsecondary Access, a CSG initiative. He also has provided support and facilitated state roundtables as part of CSG’s Common Core State Standards Policy Initiative, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Weldon has authored policy briefs and published articles on college developmental education (remediation) programs, adolescent literacy, early college programs, state policies related to advanced placement programs, charter schools, state P-16/20 programs, distance learning, four-day school weeks, teacher pay-for-performance issues and measures to improve high school graduation rates.
Additionally, his interests in education policy include initiatives to address achievement gaps, rural education issues, educational data collection systems and cyber-bullying. Before joining the education policy group, he worked in health policy.
A former teacher and journalist, Weldon earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Asbury College, Wilmore, Ky., and a master’s degree in education from Georgetown College, Georgetown, Ky.
