Next Steps

Over the next several months, three distinct and complementary activities will be underway to better inform and round out the activities of the National Governance Working Group:
Judicial Participation: CSG will seek to engage various judicial officials, stakeholder groups, organizations and associations to better define the needs of judicial officials as related to CSG and to clearly define parameters for their increased participation. These exploratory steps will include:
Regional Leadership Rotation: CSG’s national leadership has asked CSG’s regional directors to convene and submit recommendations defining the process of regional leadership rotation that will both preserve the autonomy of regional leaders to select their national slates and establish a clear process and timeline for doing so, including how regions will handle mid-term appointments to unexpired terms when vacated by members.

Drafting Team: Following initial work by the National Governance Working Group, a drafting team has been appointed that will work over the winter of 2011-12 to develop draft governance documents for review by CSG’s membership and approval by CSG’s Governing Board.
