Overview To recognize an exemplary state program that addresses issues related to healthy aging, CSG will present a "Silver Society" award as part of Gov. Jim Douglas' President's Initiative. Deadline for applications is June 15, 2006! Award Selection and Presentation State officials and aging experts will screen the qualified applicants and select one winner. The selection panel will consist of five to seven representatives from state government and nonprofit organizations such as the National Association of State Units on Aging and the American Association of Retired Persons. Gov. Douglas will present the award at CSG's Annual State Trends and Leadership Forum in December 2006. Eligibility Criteria 1. Applicants for the award can address a variety of healthy aging issues, including:
