Administration on Aging

AoA’s mission is to promote the dignity and independence of older people, and to help society prepare for an aging population. AoA carries out its mission with and through a national network of public and private organizations and is charged, under the Older Americans Act, with the responsibility to serve as the advocate for older people at the national level, and to oversee the development of a comprehensive and coordinated system of care that will enable older individuals to remain at home and participate fully in the community life.

National Council on Aging

Dedicated to improving the health and independence of older persons and increasing their continuing contributions to communities, society and future generations.

U.S. Senate Special Commitee on Aging

A focal point in the Senate for discussion and debate on matters relating to older Americans. Often, the Committee will submit its findings and recommendations for legislation to the Senate. In addition, the Committee publishes materials of assistance to those interested in public policies which relate to the elderly.
