About the awards: CSG established the Innovations Awards Program in 1986 to bring greater visibility to exemplary state programs and practices, and to facilitate the transfer of those successful experiences to other states. The program is the only comprehensive national awards program that focuses exclusively on state programs and policies. How do I submit a program or policy from my state? Please see the criteria for consideration to determine if a program or policy in your state is eligible for an Innovations Award. Then follow these application instructions. How are state programs selected for an award? Each year the Innovations program receives hundreds of applications. CSG policy experts review the applications and select the finalists. Regional panels of state officials then judge the programs against several benchmark criteria, selecting two award-winning programs within each CSG region. How are the awards presented? The winning programs are traditionally recognized in a ceremony during CSG's Annual State Trends and Leadership Forum. In addition, the winners are showcased in CSG's national magazine, State News. |
