With popular compacts like the Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Compact and the new Popular Vote Compact gaining interest and support around the country, 2007 may exceed recent years in terms of both legislative introductions and enactments of interstate compacts. - CSG partners with U.S. Department of Defense to address educational issues of military children - The new national project will examine the creation of a new interstate agreement impacting the children of military families. The effort will focus on the issues surrounding the interstate movement of school-aged military children, the impacts such movement has on academic performance and other activities as well as possible solutions to improve educational outcomes for these children. Composed of representatives from several public organizations as well as local, state and federal policymakers and education officials, the Advisory Group will help to assess and determine a future course of action regarding interstate cooperation on these issues.
