Suggested state legislation

ssl

Suggested State Legislation (SSL) is a valued series of compilations of draft legislation on topics of current importance to states.

The intent of the program is not to influence the enactment of state legislation, but to compile draft legislation so that the experiences of one state may prove beneficial to others.

New CSG initiative! The Council of State Governments is tracking how states are implementing the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). As such, CSG seeks state legislation that addresses ARRA (e.g., generally defines how the money will be appropriated and the role of the legislature in that process) or arises from ARRA (e.g., legislation to implement a particular grant under the Act). Depending upon the type and amount of legislation CSG collects that is related to ARRA, CSG will consider posting such legislation on StateRecovery.org and for a supplement to a future SSL volume. In this case, CSG will accept introduced and enacted legislation. Interested state officials should send applicable legislation to bvoit@csg.org as soon as possible.
