About the Dr. Keon Chi State Governance Transformation Award

Eligibility
Programs within the three branches of state government which focus on long-term problems endemic to state governments, take a holistic approach to solving problems, contain measurable performance benchmarks and are sustainable over time are eligible for the award.
Criteria
Nominees are evaluated using the following criteria:
Anticipatory Governance - Change short-term oriented decision-making practices to longer-term policymaking with vision and foresight.
Collaborative Governance - Call for interagency, interbranch, interstate and intergovernmental collaboration. It also includes public-private partnerships, relying on optimal service delivery systems using improved information technology and communication.
Results-Focused Governance - Create a system of state government that focuses its policy formulation, execution and adjudication on measurable performance, shifting from traditional process-oriented practices.
Transparent Governance - Achieve greater openness in government operations and performance, both internally and externally, and enhance civic participation in state government.
Nominating Process/Determining Award Winners
CSG accepts nominations from selected state associations and officials, academics and the private sector. Interested parties should contact the advisory board with their recommendations. Nominees should be prepared to furnish basic information to CSG in order for their programs to be fairly evaluated for these awards.
