Ring in the New: State News Becomes Capitol Ideas

Look for the Premiere Issue of CSG’s Premier Publication in January

Dear Friends:
With the New Year comes an exciting new resource for state leaders. In January we will be launching CSG’s new publication, Capitol Ideas. Its content and design have all been planned with you and your needs in mind. Sharing “Capitol Ideas” is what CSG is all about and now we have a new and improved way to do just that.
The magazine—previously known as State Government News and, more recently, State News—will change to better serve the pressing needs of state policymakers and to provide more resources through interactivity with the CSG Web site. A fresher look will be complemented by articles focused on solutions, starting with those found by your colleagues in other states and territories. The pages will be filled with insights and information specifically tailored to help you meet the pressing challenges facing your state or territory.
We know that as a state leader you are often pressed for time, particularly during the legislative session. In light of that, Capitol Ideas will present the in-depth information you need to make sound decisions in an easy-to-read format, with relevant information easier to digest quickly.
We’ve added lively, new departments to share news from each of the CSG regions, quotes of interest to state officials, news of interest to all facets of state government, comparative data from all states and territories, as well as updates on opportunities to learn cutting-edge insights from other CSG members through our meetings page.
And you can rest assured that the magazine will continue to be a place where innovations in state governance are recognized and shared.
We hope this new platform for information-sharing will become more than a magazine which sits on your coffee table; we want it to foster a dialogue. With that in mind, please let us know what you think of the premiere issue and feel free to submit your own insights for inclusion on our Web page. We want CSG and Capitol Ideas to reflect our members. We believe strongly that the creativity, insight, expertise and passion of America’s state leaders are sufficient to tackle any challenge and bold enough to propel us toward a better future.
Capitol Ideas is the next chapter in CSG’s effort to serve you better and we invite you to join us in making it the publication you need to help you achieve excellence in state governance.
Look for the premiere issue in your mailbox in January. If you have story ideas or feedback on any aspect of CSG publications, please contact Mary Branham via email or at (859) 244-8188. We always enjoy learning how we can serve you best.
